What is barcode billing software?
Barcode billing software lets a counter operator scan a product code instead of searching for the item and typing the price. The bill line, rate, tax and stock deduction all follow from the scan, which removes the two most common counter errors: wrong price and wrong item.
Do I need a barcode scanner to use it?
A basic USB handheld scanner is enough for most counters, and they are inexpensive. GetMePOS also supports manual product search, so you can start without a scanner and add one later.
Can I print barcode labels for my own products?
Yes. Barcode label printing is part of the standard workflow, which matters for loose goods, repacked items and garments where products do not arrive with a manufacturer barcode.
Does barcode billing work in the offline variant?
Yes. Scanning is local to the counter, so the Offline / Standalone variant scans and bills with no internet connection. Remember it carries fewer functionalities overall than the cloud variant.
